Suriana stands for “Suara Rintikihan Kanak-kanak,”
which translates to “cries of the children”,

as a calling to go where the need is greatest,

and to take the road less travelled.

From the start, we asked ourselves: why focus on housing a few children and women when we could go to the heart of troubled communities, educate to eradicate poverty, and empower many to break the poverty cycle?

 

We are changing bit by bit, family by family and child by child ever since we set foot into the heart of these urban poor communities 12 years ago.
